Ashok (film)

''Ashok'' (''అశోక్'') is a 2006 Telugu romantic action film produced by Maharishi Cinema, directed and written by Surender Reddy. It stars N. T. Rama Rao Jr., Sameera Reddy, Prakash Raj and Sonu Sood. A movie about redemption, the titular character must make amends to his father after blaming for the death of his grandmother while meeting a girl who understands him and his burdens. At the same time, he also must battle against a mafia-like organization who hates him.
It was released in India on 14 July 2006 in the Andhra Pradesh and later dubbed in Hindi as ''Ghayal:The Fighter Man''. It was an average grosser at the box office.
==Plot==
Ashok (NTR) is an auto mechanic worker and fighter who is thrown out of the house due to his rash actions that killed his grandmother. His father (Prakash Raj), is still carrying that anger against him despite him saving her sister from a group of thugs, who wanted to do a forced marriage. He then accidentally met up with a insecure yet talented dancer girl named Anjali (Sameera Reddy), who Ashok falls in love with. On top of it, KK (Sonu Sood), the leader of one of the biggest crime syndicate in Andhra Pradesh, is interested on becoming elected as the district's newest governor. When Anjali witnessed an assassination and falls in love with her, Ashok decides to protect her, causing a one-man war against KK's gang.
This angers KK more and was forced to make a deal with his father to be sent off to New Delhi according to his plan and killed off Ashok's friend (Rajeev Kanakala) while capturing Anjali. After Ashok learned about his plan, he decides to fly back to Hyderabad to save Anjali with the help of his friends. Ashok also learned that one of KK's men killed of his friend and decides to kill him to avenge his death, angering KK and his mother. KK's gang decides to capture Ashok's sister during her wedding and told his father if he hadn't brought Ashok to their house in exchange for her safety, she dies. Ashok learned this as his father dragged him to KK's manor and told Ashok to save his sister no matter what, believing his son as he leaves. Ashok fought off KK in a swordfight as his sister looks on. But when KK is losing, his mother decides to grab a gun on the drawer to kill Ashok. But when she pulled the trigger, she accidentally killed KK, leaving Ashok the winner as he and his sister left the mansion.
At the end, Ashok's sister got married and his father accepted him again as his own son, finally redeeming on what he did.
